Dear Families, Staff & Supporters,
Deep Roots Charter School opened in 2018 with a commitment to serving students and families in the Kensington community. We opened as a kindergarten through 4th grade school and the school has grown to serve students in kindergarten through 6th grade. We have known since we opened that we would need additional space to continue to grow the Deep Roots community. We have spent over 4 years searching the Kensington community and Deep Roots catchment area and have even used temporary classrooms to give us more time to find additional space to accommodate Deep Roots students.
This search has been, unfortunately, unsuccessful. In spite of the hard work and dedication of our Board, staff, and partners, Deep Roots has not found an appropriate home that would allow us to continue to grow to next year.
The Deep Roots Charter School Board will convene in a Special Meeting on Wednesday, November 17 to discuss grade configuration options for School Year 2022-2023. All Deep Roots stakeholders are invited to join this meeting. Directions for joining and for signing up to provide public comment during this meeting are attached.
